replacing

I'd first off like to thank everyone who offered up suggestions on how to make getting rid of the pacifier a little smoother.
My fave suggestion was getting some balloons and tying the pacifiers to them then letting them go as a sacrifice to the pacifier fairies (or something along those lines).
All were very creative.
Although she is brilliant, Fia, is not quite 2 years old so I aimed to keep it very simple.

Pacie broke.
Pacie garbage.

Also many of you guys suggested (and we had been working on this for a few months even before) finding the perfect "lovey" as a replacement.
Something to hold on to.
perhaps a blanket?
Stuffed animal?

Prior to the ripping away of the pacifier we had been trying out different options, there was a zebra, and then another zebra. several different blankets. There is a favorite board book, which sounds uncomfortable to sleep with but she liked it so whatever.
Last night though, WE FOUND IT!

The one thing that she is willing to stay in bed for, not cry and fall asleep with.
A comb.
She lays in bed running the comb through her hair over and over until long last she falls asleep.
BUT, not just any comb, a comb I received my freshman year of high school from a friend in a gift basket she gave me for Christmas.
This is the only comb I will use after shampooing my hair and have used it for almost 15 years.
I love this dang comb and now my daughter won't even let me touch it.
(fun fact... the ends of the comb used to be blue)
I guess if I had to loose it to some one or something, getting fia to go to sleep is a pretty good option.
I will miss you PC (perfect comb).
Do you see it?

And thanks Amber for the present that keeps on giving!
